Underwriting Specialist / Executive Underwriter – Multinational

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter to support our Middle Market Multinational business. The role will be based in locations such as Overland Park, KS;
Chicago, IL;
Minneapolis, MN;
Cleveland, OH;
St. Louis, MO;
Dallas, TX; or Denver, CO, with a hybrid work schedule (office 3 days per week).

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts.
• Market facing and production within the Middle Market Multinational division.
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
• Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships in the West Region.
• Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.

Underwriting Specialist level:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting or market facing area; or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in claims or underwriting support; or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 1+ years in underwriting or market facing; or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 4+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business, legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Executive Underwriter level:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting or market facing; or
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years in claims or underwriting support; or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3+ years in underwriting or market facing; or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 8+ years in claims or underwriting support.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Multinational experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Combined salary range: $75,000 – $165,000.0. Underwriting Specialist: $75,000 – $125,000 with 10% short‑term incentive bonus eligibility. Executive Underwriter: $98,500 – $165,000 with 15% short‑term incentive bonus eligibility.
