About This Position
The purpose of this position is to oversee maintenance of BHA’s public-facing website and share the responsibility of maintaining BHA’s internal intranet, along with other digital products on an as-needed basis. The role also guides and directs how to improve navigation and web page templates, ensuring all content is accessible to all users.
Website Content Management- Develop and maintain the website content strategy aligned with BHA organizational goals.
- Manage a Drupal-based website.
- Handle internal website form inquiries and content throughout the Asana-based project management system.
- Ensure consistent voice, tone, and style across the website.
- Maintain proper online messaging and relevancy; audit and update departmental websites.
- Research best practices and recommend strategies for plain‑language, digitally accessible, and user‑friendly content.
- Optimize content for search engines, including keywords, internal linking, and metadata, and perform regular maintenance audits.
- Use Siteimprove and other tools to create a high‑performing, accessible website that meets legal standards.
- Apply basic HTML knowledge to make necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate all communication with Tyler Technologies, the state’s development and technology partner.
- Support site refreshes and redesigns as needed.
- Collaborate with the Internal Communications Specialist to update and maintain intranet content.
- Maintain up‑to‑date intranet information aligned with organizational priorities and policies.
- Publish monthly and quarterly content and updates.
- Improve usability through clear navigation and layout.
- Incorporate employee feedback to enhance user experience.
- Monitor intranet usage and content performance.
- Fix broken links and outdated references.
- Publish urgent notices, leadership messages, and operational updates.
- Work with BHA Communications Unit staff, BHA Colorado for ALL team, and other internal staff to develop and implement a strategic plan for digital accessibility and usability.
- Support collaboration with CDHS and Office of Information Technology accessibility teams.
- Review, edit, and update website and digital content to meet current WCAG standards and best practices.
- Assist with posting and updating multilingual web content.
- Oversee the Siteimprove platform, remedying issues and improving scores for accessibility, certainty index, QA, and SEO.
- Coordinate with Tyler Technologies as needed.
- Six (6) years of relevant professional experience in website content management, digital communications, web publishing or editing, Drupal content administration, accessibility and compliance, or working with program staff across departments.
- Strong, demonstrable skills in writing, editing, proofreading for the web, authoring and publishing content, setting up basic layouts and blocks, managing website menus, uploading media, SEO basics for government websites, basic HTML knowledge.
- Experience with digital analytics.
- Knowledge of content governance.
- Drupal content administration experience.
- Experience with accessibility and compliance.
- Multimedia experience (video, images, graphics).
- Standard background and reference checks.
- State of Colorado residency required at application and throughout employment.
- Motor vehicle check if duties require state-owned vehicle use.
- Valid, non‑restricted Colorado driver’s license or U.S. driver’s license for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border.
- Travel to meetings or conferences as needed.
