* Position Summary:
** At The Clearing House (TCH), our models power critical financial infrastructure. The Model Risk Management team plays a central role in ensuring those models are sound, compliant, and delivering trusted results across the organization.
We are seeking a Model Risk Management Business Analyst who is analytical, curious, and eager to influence enterprise-wide risk practices. In this role, you will gain exposure to high-impact financial and operational models, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and contribute directly to strengthening model governance across TCH.The Model Risk Management (MRM) Business Analyst role is responsible for governance, analysis and reporting of model risks across all functional areas in the organization through all phases of the model life cycle.
In this role, you will assist in the review, validation, and rating of model performance and controls, including the assessment of ongoing monitoring and performance results, issues management, and stakeholder communication. The Business Analyst works closely with cross-functional risk, product, and operational teams to ensure that all model life cycle activities are complete and meet business and regulatory requirements.
This role requires an understanding of applied analytics, mathematics, or modeling and the ability to perform data analysis, risk assessment, data visualization and interpretation with a strong ability to communicate results, verbal and written.
** Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
*** Administer and manage the annual model life cycle activities.
* Assist in model validation through review, analysis, assessment, and documented evidence to confirm model accuracy and reliability.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of model risk assessments, validation results, and model-related policies and procedures.
* Identify, analyze, and communicate model risk concerns and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
* Ensure that all models are compliant with relevant internal policies, regulatory requirements, and guidelines, making necessary adjustments as needed.
* Proactively maintain partnerships with stakeholders from various departments.
* Prepare reports on model risk management for committee and regulatory meetings.
* Perform special projects and additional duties as required.
* Monitor market developments and best practices to improve and enhance the existing model risk management framework.
** Qualifications
Required:
*** BA or BS required, preferably in business analytics, mathematics, information technology, finance, computer and information science, data science and statistics
* Experience in risk, model development or quantitative discipline
* Working knowledge of Python or R, and Tableau
* Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, Graphs), PowerPoint, and Word
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong working knowledge on reporting and dashboard use/development
* Strong organizational and coordination skills
** Qualifications Desired:
*** Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
* Working knowledge of risk management concepts
* Demonstrates good technical proficiency in problem solving
* Proficiency in communicating to both business and technical resources
* Demonstrated ability to manage workload and work schedule to meet project deadlines
** Physical Demands and Work Environment**:
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel may be required. Candidates will report to the office three days each week. Onsite work requirements may change at any time.
* The anticipated annual salary range for NY-based candidates for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. Salary will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance.
