QA Engineer; AWS​/Microservices​/API Automation

Position: QA Engineer (AWS / Microservices / API Automation)

Location:
Denver, CO (Onsite)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

We are looking for a skilled QA Services Integration Tester with 3-4 years of experience in manual and automation testing within microservices-based, cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will have strong API testing expertise, exposure to AWS and Kubernetes deployments, and experience working in high-performing Agile teams with fast release cycles.

• Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Design, write, and execute detailed test cases in ALM Octane
  • Perform Services Integration Testing across microservices-based applications
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and API testing
  • Certify microservices releases in fast-paced Agile environments
  • Perform log validation using Splunk (or similar tools)
  • Participate in production root cause analysis and defect triage
  • Support release validation in containerized environments
• Automation & Technical Expertise
  • Develop and maintain API automation using Cucumber
  • Perform REST API testing (Postman/Swagger or similar tools)
  • Utilize basic Python scripting for testing and automation (as applicable)
  • Validate deployments via Jenkins
  • Understand and test applications deployed in:
    • AWS environments
    • Kubernetes clusters (Pods, Nodes concepts)
    • Containerized microservices architecture
  • Debug deployment-related issues within Pods and microservices
• Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with Dev and Dev Ops teams to validate builds and releases
  • Coordinate with offshore QA teams as required
  • Assist leadership with:
    • JIRA ticket reporting
    • Test execution reporting
    • Release certification summaries
    • Metrics consolidation

• 3-4 years of manual and/or automation testing experience
• Strong understanding of software testing principles
• Hands-on experience with:
  • ALM Octane
  • JIRA
  • API & REST API testing
  • Microservices architecture
  • Containerization & Kubernetes (Pods/Nodes concepts)
  • Jenkins deployment validation
• Experience with log validation (Splunk or similar tools)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with Dev-Ops partners
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with rapid release cycles

• Basic AWS knowledge
• Writing Splunk queries and creating dashboards
• Exposure to Dev Ops-integrated QA processes
• Domain knowledge in Video Services
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline validation
• Experience in production issue analysis and RCA documentation

• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Comfortable in cloud-native, distributed microservices environments
• Detail-oriented with an ownership mindset
• Ability to work cross-functionally across global teams
• Capable of balancing manual and automation efforts efficiently
