The Director of Data Analytics and AI is a high‑impact, hands‑on leadership role responsible for building and managing Avanti’s unified data infrastructure and driving AI‑powered automation across the organization. This role owns the company’s data architecture strategy — including the REBA environment — and partners with each department to standardize data sources, build a centralized data lake, and develop modular AI applications that drive measurable efficiency.

The ideal candidate combines deep data architecture expertise with practical knowledge of large language models and emerging AI technologies. This person thrives as a hands‑on builder who can execute while contributing to long‑term strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Data Architecture and Unified Data Lake:
  • Own and manage Avanti’s data architecture across the REBA environment and all operational and investment data sources.
  • Design, build, and maintain a unified company‑wide data lake that serves as the single source of truth.
  • Lead data standardization initiatives to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across departments.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks to maintain integrity and security.
  • Departmental Data Standardization and Integration:
  • Lead phased engagements with each department — beginning with acquisitions and underwriting, followed by asset management, marketing, operations, revenue management, and accounting.
  • Assess, standardize, and integrate departmental data into the unified data lake.
  • Partner with department heads to understand data needs, identify inefficiencies, and design solutions with measurable ROI.
  • Manage three‑to‑six month implementation cycles per department, ensuring successful onboarding before transitioning to the next team.
  • AI and Automation:
  • Identify, develop, and deploy AI‑driven automation workflows across the organization using large language models and emerging AI technologies.
  • Build modular AI applications on top of the unified data lake to improve efficiency across acquisitions, underwriting, asset management, marketing, operations, and revenue management.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI — including large language models such as Claude — and evolve Avanti’s technology strategy accordingly.
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize AI initiatives based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Reporting, Business Intelligence, and Data Strategy:
  • Design and maintain dashboards and analytics frameworks using Power BI to track KPIs across investment and operational functions.
  • Provide data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership to improve performance.
  • Integrate reporting functions with property management, CRM, and financial systems.
  • Maintain oversight of data governance and ensure accuracy of business intelligence outputs.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary data and AI liaison across departments, technology partners, and senior management.
  • Translate complex data and AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of data‑driven decision‑making, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or related field required.
