Position Summary
A Sr Data Scientist leverages advanced data analysis techniques to identify and solve organizational problems with precision. Will partner with business leaders to understand organizational priorities and design and implement scalable data solutions using machine learning, AI techniques, and collaborating with data science peers. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for the role to influence and drive data-driven decision-making that aids achieving organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Leveraging knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective data analysis to determine the root cause of organizational problems and engineer alternative solutions that resolve these problems with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
- Designing and implementing robust data solutions that are reusable and scalable.
- Build resilient data pipelines in cloud environments.
- Using exploratory analysis to prepare unstructured data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Leading machine learning projects and modeling initiatives and providing mentorship to junior Data Scientists.
- Understanding business context to ensure data relevancy and quality is addressed and considered in work scoping activities.
- Identifying and applying appropriate AI techniques.
- Measuring and clearly communicating cost/benefit analysis of data projects/ products.
- Interpreting results, visualizing output, and communicating data narratives effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, math, statistics, or related with an analytical concentration.
- A minimum of 5+ years of professional data science experience.
- Post graduate degree in data science or a related field. Relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a post graduate degree in combination with years of experience. (i.e. MLOps, data platform certs, etc.)
- Experience with Data Bricks (or other cloud-based data platforms)
- Familiarity with utility industry and long term load forecasting
- Familiarity with time series modeling and propensity modeling
