About

The Role

The Principal Consultant is a senior delivery and capability leadership role within COSOL’s Americas Professional Services team. It is designed for highly experienced Maximo specialists who want to apply their skills to deliver outstanding client value, while coaching and mentoring others to uplift capability.

Working closely with the Global Capability Lead in Australia, this position combines direct billable consulting (85% utilisation) with leadership in solution design, project delivery excellence, and capability building. The role also provides thought leadership, ensures consistent methodology, and supports COSOL’s reputation as a trusted partner in enterprise asset management transformation.

Your key areas of accountability will be around five main pillars
- Client Delivery, Coaching & Capability Uplift, Collaboration with Global Capability Leads, Solution & Thought Leadership and Business Development & Growth Contribution.

Within these areas of accountability, you can expect your role to involve the following
- • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of IBM Maximo solutions to meet client business objectives.

• Provide strategic advice on enterprise asset management optimisation through an integrated asset management information ecosystem.

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, including engagement with executive stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in.

• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level consultants in technical delivery, solution design, and consulting excellence.

• Align regional delivery practices with global methodologies and standards

• Provide thought leadership on how to best architect and leverage Maximo to deliver operational and strategic outcomes.

• Tackle technically challenging environments, providing the “big picture” thinking to guide complex solution design.

• Support pre-sales activities, including scoping, solution demonstrations, and proposal development.

• Identify opportunities for account growth through enhancements, modules, and support services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

• Extensive consulting experience in designing and implementing IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management solutions.

• Experience leading a team or project to deliver Maximo and related solutions.

• Strong understanding of asset management concepts, industry standards, and integration with other systems.

• Proven ability to mentor and coach others in both technical and consulting skills.

• Vendor certifications or relevant industry qualifications highly regarded.

• Experience in professional services or consulting environment preferred.

• Proven ability to maintain high billable utilisation while managing operational responsibilities.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

• Commercial acumen and understanding of consulting engagement models.
