Position: Director, Data Operations (Denver) - Commercial Real Estate

Position Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy & Management Provide a vision for and execute a long-term data strategy that aligns with business objectives and enhances Northmarq’s ability to make better and more timely data-driven decisions. Collaborate with Operations and IT on data definitions and processes to drive alignment and initiatives as we aim for efficient user experiences and meaningful outcomes Identify opportunities to improve data automation, reducing manual processes and increasing operational efficiency.

    Assess opportunities to improve scalability through tools, staffing and process changes. Partner with IT across our platforms to deliver data and insights quickly and reliably to users, with a focus on practical value measured by the knowledge and impact the data provides the business.
  • Technology & Innovation Partner with technology teams to implement and manage data management architecture, business intelligence platforms, and reporting solutions that keeps pace with business growth and evolving information needs. Collaborate with IT to evaluate and recommend emerging data technologies to improve data accessibility and analytics capabilities. Work with IT to implement automated processes and tools to streamline data management across Northmarq and foster a culture of collaboration within the organization.
  • Collaboration & Leadership Oversee leadership of the data management team, providing mentorship and professional development to the Senior Manager and Data Services Leads Drive key cross-functional efforts and initiatives with IT, operations, sales, research, and finance teams to deliver data-driven insights to key stakeholders/business users and increase Northmarq’s competitive advantage Partner with the business to ensure that Northmarq data supports desired business outcomes by providing market intelligence, increasing client knowledge and management, supporting business development, and providing data-driven value to clients.

    Act as a key advisor to leadership on data-related initiatives, driving innovation in CRE data management. Drive initiatives through the Data Council and ensure alignment with the IT Steering Committee
  • Data Quality & Governance Provide expertise in data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that are market-leading for the CRE industry, leverage best practices, and current data-related technology methods to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity across all data sources. Establish and report key data quality metrics across the firm, proactively identifying and resolving data issues affecting our proprietary data’s value and usability and developing processes for ongoing improvement.

    Implement data validation and enrichment processes to enhance the reliability and usefulness of company, contact, property, and deal data.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in data operations, data governance, or business intelligence, with at least 5 years in the commercial real estate industry, preferably capital markets or investment sales.
  • Strong understanding of CRE data sources, including Yardi, CoStar, RCA, Dunn & Bradstreet, etc.
  • Experience working within a shared Salesforce CRM/database
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI), and data reporting processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional teams and initiatives.
