Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Senior Search Developer to join our team located in the United States. This role is primarily office-based at a local Perficient location, with travel and on-site client engagements expected as needed.

We're seeking a Search Implementation Developer to design, integrate, and optimize enterprise search experiences for our clients. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with one or more commercial/open‑source search platforms, strong debugging chops in Java or .NET, and is comfortable deploying data and services in cloud environments. This is a client‑facing role‑clear communication and consulting maturity are essential.

As a Senior Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will take direction from solution architects and Leads on development activities.

• Implement and configure search platforms (indexing, relevancy tuning, query pipelines, connectors, analytics, ranking signals).
• Build and debug services for ingestion, enrichment, ETL, and search orchestration (APIs, microservices).
• Design and deploy search solutions in a cloud‑native environment.
• Implement search interfaces when needed using tools provided.
• Integrate with data sources and applications (databases, CMS/DXP, CRM, knowledge bases).
• Own troubleshooting across the stack‑data pipelines, query performance, relevancy, scalability, and SLAs.
• Collaborate directly with clients: discovery, solution design, demos, documentation, and training.

• Experience with any search platform is welcome; the following are preferred:
  • Coveo
  • Lucidworks
  • Open Search
  • Elasticsearch
  • Algolia
  • Squirro
  • Bloomreach
  • or equivalent
• Search platform implementation in production (any of the above).
• Programming:
  Java and/or .NET (C#) with strong debugging and profiling experience.
• ETL/Data pipelines: building and operating ingestion/enrichment jobs; experience in cloud ETL is a plus.
• Cloud: deploying applications/services on AWS/Azure/GCP (networking, security, scaling).
• Databases: SQL and/or No
  
  SQL (schema design, indexing strategies, performance tuning).
• Source control:
  Git and Git Hub (branching, PRs, code reviews).

• CI/CD with Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, or equivalent.
• Relevancy tuning: query rewriting, synonyms, boosters, facets, behavioral signals, A/B testing.
• Experience integrating with CMS/DXP (e.g., Adobe, Salesforce, Service Now) or custom connectors.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data‑informed task execution.
• Familiarity with AI‑enhanced platforms is a plus.
• A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including ethical considerations, is expected.
• Experience using AI dev tools:
  Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, Replit, Windsurf, Google Antigravity, Cline, or equivalent.
• Public Git Hub portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
• Docker (build, multi‑stage images) and Kubernetes (deployment, Helm, observability).
• Prior consulting experience (client discovery, solution architecture, stakeholder management).

• Excellent client communication—able to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Structured problem‑solving; comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration.
• Documentation, knowledge transfer, and demo readiness.

• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience accepted.
