About the Role

Riot Data Centers (a Riot Platform Company) is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Solutions Engineering to lead our technical pre-sales and solution design function. This role partners closely with Sales to guide clients through the technology evaluation stage, translating complex requirements into scalable, standards-based data center solutions.

As VP, you will build and develop a high-performing Solutions Engineering team, establish best practices, and act as a key technical advisor across Site Operations, Design, Finance, and Supplier ecosystems, ensuring exceptional customer outcomes and contract value realization.

This position will be based in our Denver office. Relocation assistance available.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with clients to understand business and technical requirements, designing solutions that meet their IT infrastructure needs
• Lead solution requirement sessions with clients and vendors, creating technical proposals, architectural overviews, and facility tours
• Support sales teams in positioning and proving technology solutions, reviewing lease terms, and ensuring solutions align with customer requirements
• Drive standardization and best practices across regional design teams
• Conduct detailed assessments of network, power, cooling, and space for client environments
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of materials, and scopes of work for large-scale infrastructure deployments
• Lead process improvements, resolving technical escalations across operations, suppliers, and finance
• Represent RDC at customer sites, OEM facilities, trade conferences, and networking events
• Provide strategic leadership in RFP/RFI responses, QBRs, and periodic business reviews

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of technical leadership experience in data center, cloud, or IT infrastructure industries, preferably with hyperscale clients
• Proven success leading global Solutions Engineering or Technical Sales teams
• Deep knowledge of data center systems, including power, cooling, cabling, network architecture, and compliance (e.g., Uptime Tier, ASHRAE standards)
• Strong business acumen and experience engaging enterprise and hyperscale customers
• Excellent communication and influence skills with C-level stakeholders
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive Salary:
  Base salary range $220,000 - $240,000 (commensurate with experience) + sign-on equity grant + bonus.
