Senior Associate Database Administrator – Primary Sr. Database Administrator - SQL (Tier
3)
Location: Onsite Denver, US (No Remote)

Responsibilities- Advise clients on best practices around availability, performance, and security
- Lead initiatives around architecture design, disaster recovery planning, capacity forecasting, and cost optimization
- Own the end‑to‑end database service lifecycle, from backup strategy to proactive tuning
- Collaborate directly with clients, including technical teams and executive stakeholders
- Participate in the on‑call rotation to support critical production issues and ensure high availability around the clock
Mandatory SQL Server DBA Skills
- 12+ years of IT experience, including 10+ years of hands‑on expertise with SQL Server versions 2000 through 2022
- Proven experience supporting SQL Server in both IaaS and PaaS deployments on AWS and Azure
- Deep expertise in performance tuning, particularly SQL query optimization
- Hands‑on experience in clustered SQL Server environments and Always On Availability Groups
- Proficient in configuring and managing Log Shipping, Replication, and Mirroring
- Strong background in backup strategies and disaster recovery planning
- Capable of providing 24x7 production support in high‑availability environments
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments, from 2003R2 onward
- Extensive development experience in T‑SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
- Working experience with Power Shell
- Implement scalable database designs, including table partitioning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and audit specifications
- Develop and manage deployment/rollback scripts and coordinate updates across all servers
- Migrate and maintain SSIS packages, support SSAS cube migration, and develop production‑related stored procedures for reporting
- Build Python automations for backup validation, log parsing, connection analysis, and data extraction/transformation
- Develop Python utilities for SQL Server performance monitoring, alerting, and integration with analytics platforms such as Power BI
- Hold either AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator credentials
- Proven experience in a Managed Services environment or in supporting multiple clients simultaneously
- Demonstrated success in managing large‑scale enterprise environments with 100+ SQL Server instances
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct team members and delegate tasks effectively
- Skilled in coordinating efforts between internal DBA teams and external clients to ensure alignment and service quality
- Comfortable communicating with executive leadership as well as technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to convey information clearly and concisely
