Forward Deployed Product Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Forward Deployed Product Engineer with a TS/SCI for a growing satellite communications company based in Denver, Colorado. In this hybrid role, you’ll be embedded with satellite mission teams, deploying and supporting our software where reliability is non-negotiable. You’ll work across the full stack—from infrastructure to frontend—solving real-world problems and shaping the future of our platform through direct customer feedback and rapid prototyping.

This is more than an engineering role—it’s a product role. You’ll be the bridge between field operations and product development, using AI tools to accelerate innovation and deliver solutions that matter.

• Configure and deploy our software in customer environments, ensuring reliability and performance across complex workflows.
• Troubleshoot issues across backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, and frontend interfaces.
• Travel to customer sites and embed with operations teams, building trusted technical relationships.
• Rapidly prototype new features using live customer data and feedback.
• Act as the voice of the customer in product discussions, translating field insights into roadmap priorities.
• Collaborate with Product & Engineering to evolve prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Develop playbooks for repeatable integrations and maintain clear documentation and training resources.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years in software engineering, with a focus on customer-facing or field roles.
• Proven experience deploying and supporting production software in mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in Python; experience with Type Script, Java, or similar languages is a plus.
• Experience building software with AI tools such as Cursor, Amp, or ChatGPT.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, GCP), databases, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of networking, cloud security, and Dev Ops practices.

Salary: $140,000 - $175,000
