Job Title: Senior Director of Human Resources
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Compensation: $93,000 – $138,000 (Target: $125,000)
We are hiring for our client, a nationally recognized organization committed to creating life-changing opportunities for the next generation of the workforce. They are seeking a highly experienced, operationally driven Senior Director of Human Resources to stabilize, strengthen, and scale their HR function. If you’re a strategic, confident, and exceptionally skilled HR leader who can build structure in ambiguity, and you’re ready to run an entire People Operations department, this role is built for you.
Key Responsibilities- Execute comprehensive HR strategies, turning organizational vision into operational excellence.
- Supervise and coach the Director of Human Resources (your direct report).
- Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, and culture initiatives.
- Lead complex employee relations issues and workplace investigations with fairness and clarity.
- Align HR policies, procedures, and systems across multi-state locations.
- Manage and optimize People Operations technology including HRIS, payroll platforms, ATS, and engagement tools.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with strong multi-state expertise.
- Lead strategies for onboarding, supporting, and engaging a distributed hybrid workforce.
- Partner with senior leadership on staffing plans, hiring strategy, and compensation alignment.
- Guide the organization through major HR initiatives and change management processes.
- PHR/SPHR certification
- Extensive senior-level HR leadership experience
- Proven ability to make tough decisions and run a full HR department
- Highly intelligent, articulate, confident decision-maker
- Deep knowledge of HR best practices, multi-state operations, and People Ops systems
- Strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Exceptional critical thinking, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to build trust with senior leaders and staff at all levels
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-change environments; comfortable with ambiguity
- Thick skin, self-sufficient, and able to work with a demanding executive leader
