About Moss Consulting

Moss Consulting is a national HR consulting and outsourcing firm serving small and mid-sized businesses. We provide fractional HR leadership, compliance support, recruiting, and payroll services — helping business owners focus on growth while we manage their people operations.

Our HR Managers act as the dedicated HR leader for multiple client companies, delivering practical, modern HR solutions across diverse industries.

The Role

Moss Consulting is hiring a Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations for multiple Denver-area client companies. This is a client-facing, consulting-based HR leadership role — not a traditional single-company HR position.

You will work directly with business owners and employees, managing payroll, onboarding, benefits, and compliance across multiple organizations. You’ll also delegate and oversee work performed by HR Generalists, ensuring consistent service quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned client companies
  • Manage HR tickets and requests within defined service timelines
  • Oversee onboarding, payroll coordination, employee changes, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications
  • Conduct HR Integrity Checks and annual HR planning for client organizations
  • Delegate work to HR Generalists and manage task flow and quality standards
  • Communicate directly with business owners and leadership teams
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for urgent client needs
  • Maintain precise time tracking and clear, professional client communication standards
  • Work daily across multiple HRIS, payroll, and communication platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, Google Workspace, Hub Spot, Slack, etc.)
  • Manage multiple client environments and logins efficiently
  • Use AI-assisted tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Notion AI, etc.) to improve speed, accuracy, and documentation
  • Adapt quickly to new software, systems, and evolving workflows
Evaluation & Growth Path

All HR Managers complete a structured onboarding and evaluation process:

  • $37.50/hour
  • Training, shadowing, and progressive client ownership
  • $42.50
  • Continued client leadership and team oversight
  • Senior HR Manager (Typically After 1 Year):
  • $50.00/hour
  • Full ownership of client relationships and HR Generalist delegation

Advancement is performance-based and tied to sustained excellence, client outcomes, and leadership capability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (required)
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience (generalist or HR business partner)
  • Prior experience in HR consulting or multi-client environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll practices, and HR compliance
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
Why Moss Consulting

This is not a back-office HR role. It’s a leadership opportunity within a fast-growing HR consulting firm that values ownership, accountability, and smart systems. You’ll work directly with business owners, lead other HR professionals, and help define how modern HR is delivered.

Apply if you’re ready to lead, build, and deliver real HR impact!
