"Human Resources Manager – Highgate
Highgate Hotels is a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company with over $15 billion of assets under management and a global portfolio of more than 400 hotels worldwide.
Location:
Denver, CO
$60,000 – $65,000 annually

- Administer insurance benefits, calculate billing totals, explain benefits, and assist with enrollment form completion.
- Compile review lists and distribute them to departments.
- Prepare and distribute turnover reports.
- Enter payroll information, including wage changes.
- Conduct pre‑screening interviews.
- Respond to unemployment claims and maintain the unemployment logbook.
- Maintain new hire, termination, transfer, and promotion logbooks.
- Audit hours worked in payroll reports for benefits eligibility.
- Compile wage surveys.
- Monitor and maintain leave‑of‑absence log.
- Monitor workers’ compensation claims and complete required reports.
- Answer questions regarding the 401(k) plan and vacation benefits.
- Maintain complimentary room‑night log and process employee requests.
- Prepare and place recruitment advertising.
- Process paperwork for terminating employees.
- Maintain advertising logbook.
- Become certified trainer in all human‑resources training modules.
- Ensure compliance with all HR and Loss Prevention SOPs.
- Participate in the Highgate Hotel Enrichment Committee.
- Schedule and conduct Highgate Hotel orientation, including benefit explanations and property tours.
- Write articles and take pictures for the property newsletter.
- Assist with special projects; plan employee events such as meetings, picnics, and parties.
- Coordinate the Travel Reduction Program and conduct yearly transportation surveys.
- Maintain the first aid log.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience in a hotel or related industry.
- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
- College coursework in a related field is helpful.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Long hours are sometimes required.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests.
- Strong listening, clarifying, and multitasking skills.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, courteous, service‑oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Handle problems proactively, including anticipating and solving issues.
- Interpret complex data from various sources to meet objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
