Payroll Analyst at Einstein Bros Bagels

Job Overview

Primary function of this position is day‑to‑day support and system maintenance within Workday with a focus on Payroll Data transactions and reporting. The analyst serves as the point of contact and escalation point for the Payroll team for Workday configuration, functionality and reporting requests. Responsibilities also include documenting system processes and procedures, training end users within Payroll, analyzing and auditing payroll information, ensuring tax compliance, managing internal and external payroll‑related reporting, performing general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the Workday production environment, investigating inquiries and developing detailed resolution as an escalation point.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR Services/HRIS and IT to resolve system issues.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy in payroll systems by running queries and analyzing data.
  • Improve processes and solve issues as they arise.
  • Assist in reviewing, testing, implementing, and training on payroll system upgrades and off‑cycle updates.
  • Create documentation of enhanced processes, procedures, and results; coordinate training and communication to appropriate audiences.
  • Develop basic payroll training materials.
  • Support integrations and manage issue logs between Workday and other internal/external systems and vendors.
  • Generate system reports, metrics and dashboards for business partners, managers and executives.
  • Help manage year‑end processing and assist with issuing annual W‑2s.
  • Complete complex account reconciliations and general ledger journal entries.
  • Assist with audits and research projects as requested.
  • Communicate promptly and accurately with leadership on payroll matters, including P&L related questions.
  • Maintain the payroll manual and ensure it is regularly updated.
  • Ensure payroll tax compliance and audit activities.
  • Maintain compliance for existing and new markets, including tax codes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and procedural changes.

Education, Training & Experience

Required
:

  • Associate/technical degree in accounting or 4–6 years of related experience; or 7–10 years of combined education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel.

Preferred
:

  • Training and experience with Workday and ADP.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word.
  • Other relevant skills as may be determined by the employer.
Location & Physical Demands

Denver Support Center – 1720 S Bellaire St., Skybox, Denver, Colorado 80222

Physical demands: sits, stands, bends; lifts and moves intermittently during working hours. These requirements may be accommodated with reasonable adjustments.

Compensation
  • Base Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 per year.
  • Bonus: 10% annual incentive target.
