Position: Front Desk Agent  - Embassy Suites Denver Downtown

Rooms - This role provides the opportunity to test hospitality skills in a fast-paced environment and to impact the overall hotel operation.

Responsibilities
  • Respond in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns.
  • Greet and complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests daily, using manual and computerized methods, to ensure guest satisfaction and in-room readiness.
  • Facilitate guest departure (check-out) daily by following established procedures to close guest accounts and prepare the room for the next sell.
  • Regularly calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using cash handling procedures and ensure timely and accurate hotel charges at check-out.
  • Communicate hotel rates and information with guests, using suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local events to answer questions with timely and knowledgeable responses.
  • Operate the PBX equipment to handle incoming/outgoing calls, schedule wake-up calls and page guests for timely service.
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain personal bank responsibilities as specified by policy.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
  • Education/Formal Training: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Knowledge/

    Skills:

    Must have high school-level mathematical aptitude, knowledge of cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
  • Must have experience dealing directly with the public and general customer service skills.
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding in handling diverse customer service situations, including stressful and emotional scenarios.
  • Must be highly organized with attention to detail when performing multiple tasks.
Physical Demands

  • Read written communications and operate a monochrome computer screen.
  • Operate computer, calculator and telephone keyboards for cash handling and paperwork processing.
  • Understand and follow verbal/written instructions, multitask, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Staying upright for the majority of shift; bending and kneeling required while filing.
  • Mobility to reach all areas of the hotel to assist guests.
  • Occasional standing and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.
