Respite Provider

Overview

We are seeking compassionate, patient, and dedicated individuals to provide in-home respite care for children and adolescents (ages 5-18) with mental health illnesses and behavioral challenges. As a Respite Care Provider, you will offer temporary relief to families while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of the individuals in your care.

This role requires someone who can create a supportive, structured environment and respond appropriately to diverse behavioral and emotional needs.

• Provide direct supervision and care to children and adolescents in their home environment
• Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques as needed
• Engage clients in age-appropriate activities including recreational, educational, and social activities
• Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans created by clinical teams
• Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Document behaviors, incidents, and daily activities accurately and thoroughly
• Communicate effectively with families and clinical staff regarding client progress and concerns
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed (meals, hygiene, etc.)
• Model positive social interactions and coping strategies

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral challenges, mental health diagnoses, or developmental disabilities
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Clear background check and child abuse clearances
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
