This position will have hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.
Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum.

The Work UnitThe Prevention Services Division works with public and private partners across Colorado to improve the health of all Coloradans. The Division develops, reviews, implements and evaluates public health interventions to promote healthy living, prevent chronic disease, protect against injury and ensure access to health care and opportunities for a healthy lifestyle. The Division supports professional development and a collaborative, sustained wellness culture.

The Children, Youth and Families (CYF) BranchThe CYF branch plans, designs, implements, and evaluates public health interventions related to pregnant and postpartum people, children and youth, including children and youth with special health care needs. Our goal is to maximize maternal and child health outcomes through evidence-based practices, data-driven decisions, training, technical assistance, and community partnerships. This position is in the Family Adversity & Mortality Prevention Section.
ThePosition
Guides community engagement efforts for the Maternal Health Program and provides grantee support to improve maternal health outcomes. Builds and maintains relationships with statewide and community-based organizations to engage individuals with lived and/or community-based experience to inform public health efforts to improve perinatal wellbeing. Leads implementation of strategies for Maternal and Child Health priorities focused on perinatal wellbeing, emphasizing community-based and community-led solutions and incorporating community voices into strategy development and implementation.
Responsible for monitoring contracts for community-based and hospital-based grantees, including budgeting, scopes of work, providing technical assistance, ensuring payment of services by reviewing invoices, and completing department contract monitoring requirements.

An applicant may meet the minimum qualifications in one of two ways: through work experience alone or through a combination of education and work experience.
- Experience Only: Six (6) years of relevant experience in maternal health, public health, health policy, community engagement, health systems, or related fields.
- Education and Experience: A combination of related education (degree in maternal health, public health, health policy, community engagement, health systems or similar) and/or relevant experience equal to six (6) years.
If using education to qualify, a copy of transcripts (unofficial acceptable) must be provided with the application.
Preferred QualificationsIn addition to the minimum requirements, the successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, outreach, or partnership-building with underserved communities.
- Lived experience or strong relationships with communities affected by maternal and child health inequities.
