Job SummaryThe Activities Assistant assists the Director of Activities in planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activities for patients, ensuring that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of each patient are met in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Job Duties- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education).
- Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior.
- Escort patients to and from activities.
- Make regular in‑room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
- Assist in the evacuation of patients.
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- High school graduate (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) preferred.
- Motivational interviewing preferred.
- Behavioral therapy preferred.
- Able to work swing shifts and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Proficiently perform in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to the Code of Conduct and completing mandatory training.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by the Activities Director or Management.
Part‑time:
Friday – Sunday or Saturday – Monday.
$15.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
