Position: Evaluator - Statistical Analyst II - TERM LIMITED - 2648

Department Information

Current, permanent State of Colorado residents only. This term‑limited position is funded through June 30, 2028, and the incumbent must be willing to resign on that date or when funds end, whichever comes first.

Purpose of Position

This position provides evaluation services to CDPHE’s public health and environmental programs. Responsibilities include developing program goals, designing and conducting evaluation studies, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, interpreting results, and presenting findings to stakeholders to inform program decision‑making.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in statistical analysis and/or evaluation.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in program evaluation, public health, sociology, anthropology, psychology, epidemiology, or a closely related field AND two (2) years of experience leading applied research or program evaluation projects, including planning, partner engagement, methods design, tool development, analysis, and reporting.
  • OR Advance degree (Master's) in a related field AND one (1) year of experience conducting applied research or program evaluation projects with quantitative and qualitative analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications and Essential Competencies
  • Experience leading evaluations of public health prevention programs, especially cancer or chronic disease.
  • Group facilitation skills for building consensus among participants.
  • Knowledge of utilization‑focused, developmental, equitable, Stepwise, REACT, and other evaluation frameworks.
  • Ability to design appropriate research/evaluation methods and document them in a written plan that meets program and funder requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills for ensuring data accuracy.
  • Experience building and managing online surveys.
  • Familiarity with REDCap design and administration.
  • Proficiency in descriptive and inferential statistics, including selecting appropriate tests and conducting analyses in SPSS, SAS, or R.
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methods and experience with focus groups and key informant interviews.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Experience collecting, managing, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to synthesize results from multiple data sources and produce clear written and oral reports, including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Skill in presenting data visually for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication of complex data and analyses to varying audiences.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem‑solving for complex interpersonal and systemic challenges.
  • Self‑management and initiative to meet deadlines without close oversight.
  • Adaptability to ambiguous projects and the ability to perform independent research.
  • Understanding of social determinants of health (SDOH) and their impact on health equity.

  • This is a term‑limited position; funding ends on June 30, 2028, and the incumbent must resign on that date or when funds conclude.
