Overview
Comprehensive Behavioral Healthcare, a Porch Light Health company, is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach/Peer Support Specialist for our Denver, Colorado location. Porch Light Health is a local leader in outpatient treatment of Opioid Use Disorders and other addictive disorders. We foster a family environment where patients are treated with compassion and honesty. We believe that addiction is a chronic relapsing brain disease.
Our staff is passionate about helping other people. We offer Medication Assisted Treatment and behavioral health services. We believe there is life beyond addiction and strive to help our patients discover their purpose and community in a healthy environment. We are looking for people who are willing to work in a fast-paced medical environment.
- The Peer Recovery Coach will work closely with program directors and counselors to help patients receiving medication-assisted treatment overcome barriers that limit their ability to receive maximum therapeutic benefit from services.
- Support patients in identifying and connecting to available community resources that will best support their recovery efforts.
- Facilitate peer recovery support services in group and/or individual settings.
- Partner with treatment providers, hospital Emergency Departments, harm reduction organizations, support services, law enforcement, and other partners to educate about the availability of treatment and to ensure effective linkage to services from the community.
- Exhibit a nonjudgmental approach, listen with empathy, and help individuals discover their own solutions.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
- Experience working with or in tandem with peer support networks
- Peer Coaching or Peer Support Specialist Certification (CCAR, CPSW) preferred
- Lived experience of recovery from substance misuse for a minimum of 1 year.
- Completion of minimum 60 hours of peer recovery coach training or willingness to complete this training within 6 months of employment required.
- A person who has utilized medication assisted treatment/recovery and who is actively participating in his/her chosen pathway of recovery required.
Job Type: Full-Time, M-F 6:00am - 2:00pm, in clinic;
Thursdays at the IED center.
