- If you are a current HFEMS RN Health Compliance Inspector, you will maintain your current salary if hired into this role. If any step pay increases are available, your HRBP will audit your step pay/time-in-series upon an offer.
- If you are a current State of Colorado Health Professional III employee, the HRBP will audit your current salary, any applicable step pay/time-in-series increases and determine an appropriate salary upon an offer.
Starting pay:
If you are not a current State of Colorado employee, the starting pay for this position is $80,916 annually.

Work UnitThe Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division (HFEMSD) oversees a broad range of healthcare facilities and services in Colorado. The division licenses, certifies and surveys facilities, provides patient safety and quality programs, and supports EMS education and licensing.
Summary of PositionThis position is staffed by professionals who assess care, treatment and quality of life in health care facilities through observations, interviews and record review. The RN is required for the survey team and conducts nursing observations, medication passes, and related tasks. Reviews occurrences of serious deficiencies and writes statements of deficiencies identifying areas of non-compliance with federal and state requirements. Acts as a resource, educator and interpreter of regulations for service providers and consumers.

Experience Only:
- Six (6) years of relevant experience related to the work of this position.
- Current, valid RN licensure from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
OR Education and Experience:
Six (6) years total experience substituting education in related fields. Examples include:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, public/health administration, nursing, psychology, or related field
- Additional two (2) years of related experience
- Current, valid RN licensure as above
