Job Summary

This full‑time position is responsible for producing high quality diagnostic radiographs for offenders housed at the Denver Complex. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate radiological orders to determine positioning, test procedure needed and protective measures necessary for diagnostic testing;
  • Operate X‑ray machines, fixed and portable, according to established guidelines;
  • Produce high quality radiographs that assist medical personnel in diagnosing disease processes;
  • Evaluate finished product and equipment according to quality control standards;
  • Schedule radiological testing necessary to meet needs of offenders and/or test required;
  • Monitor system for logging all diagnostic tests performed according to offender name, number, location and test;
  • Prepare digital images for review by radiologist, including preparation of electronic information;
  • Scan dictation into electronic health record;
  • Cleans radiology equipment and provide a sanitary environment for each exam;
  • Complete all related paperwork, bookkeeping and requisitions accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Obtain and log necessary quality control measures;
  • Travel to other facilities within the state as requested;
  • Attend training programs as assigned, including one‑day self‑defense refresher course.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist in Radiography. Provide a copy of your ARRT credentials.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Radiologic Technology or a closely related field. Provide a copy of your transcripts that contain the name of the accredited institution, type of degree received, date the degree was awarded and your name.
  • At least one year of professional experience as a Radiology Technologist.
Substitutions

Clinical experience in the medical field can substitute for the degree requirement on a year‑for‑year basis; the ARRT certification is still required.

  • Ability to remain alert, emotionally stable, and mentally resilient under pressure and observant throughout the shift;
  • Tolerance to stress, confinement, and high‑stakes interaction;
  • Provide direct patient care to offenders in a correctional setting;
  • Operate radiological equipment and perform all examinations;
  • Read and comprehend the English language;
  • Communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing;
  • Create accessible documents and technical content that follows plain language guidelines with accessibility in mind;
  • Computer proficiency;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team;
  • Knowledge of various types of X‑ray equipment;
  • Work independently and as part of a team;
  • Meet work schedule and be flexible with schedule;
  • Analyze data and solve problems independently;
