- Review records and conduct interviews with inmates to assess sexual violence level, treatment needs, and treatment amenability.
- Develop and modify individual treatment plans and goals as required.
- Provide offense‑specific treatment to sex offenders through group and individual therapy, status reviews, homework reviews, and SOTMP program design.
- Document assessment and treatment interventions, progress, and use appropriate department forms and codes for mental health files.
- Ensure continuity of care by providing written reports for community corrections placement and parole board hearings, and by consulting with staff and agencies.
- Promote safety and security in the clinical and correctional environment through observation, contraband control, and self‑defense training.
- Participate in SOTMP meetings, contribute to program content, staff allocation, and training.
- Review sex‑offender evaluations, provide training on high‑risk behaviors, and conduct research and maintain program statistics.
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or permit (Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or equivalent).
- Application of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (SAPTA) and occupational licensing requirements.
- Doctoral degree in a mental health field accredited by CACREP, CSWE, AAMFT/COAMFTE, or APA.
- License eligibility as Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Psychologist.
- Experience providing mental health treatment in a correctional environment.
- Provide professional mental health or sex‑offender treatment to inmates.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across programs and with external agencies.
- Work independently and maintain comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Maintain required registration/permit/licensure.
- Work with a diverse inmate population and manage stressful situations.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED.
- Must pass all required background checks, drug screening, and completion of the Basic Training module.
- Must successfully complete defensive tactics training and maintain physical fitness standards.
- Must adhere to the Colorado Department of Corrections’ policies on safety, conduct, and drug use.
