Position Title & location

Certified Nurse Midwife / Instructor / Senior Instructor / Assistant Professor (Open Rank) in the Non‑Tenure Clinical Practice Track, CU Center for Midwifery at Longmont.

Job Summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks individuals committed to creating an inclusive learning and working environment. This full‑scope clinical role includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well‑woman and gynecological care, and serves both outpatient clinics in Longmont and Boulder and inpatient services at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital.

Nature of Work

This position is a health‑care provider and instructor within the College of Nursing’s Non‑Tenure Clinical Practice Track. The role combines clinical practice, teaching, and faculty practice development.

Clinic Description

The CU Center for Midwifery at Longmont is a private‑practice model providing holistic, person‑centered care. Services include individualized care, alternative labor/birth options (including water birth), and referrals to childbirth education, lactation services, and provider groups within the system and community.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Provide full‑scope care to gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum clients.
  • Deliver care in the outpatient clinic, OB ED unit, and intrapartum unit.
  • Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one practice and/or College of Nursing committee.
  • Educate health‑care team students (APNs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations.
  • Provide water‑birth option to low‑risk patients.
  • Participate in practice development, promotion, and community outreach.
  • Actively participate in health‑plan contracts.
  • Maintain credentialing with health plans and ensure credentials remain current.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Onsite – Longmont, CO.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Instructor
  • Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery.
  • Current AMCB certification.
  • Current RN, APN, and RxN licensures in good standing (any state).
  • May be working toward Colorado clinical licenses and registered with DORA; must have Colorado licensures by hire.
Senior Instructor
  • Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery.
  • Current AMCB certification.
  • Minimum of one year full‑scope practice.
  • Current RN, APN, and RxN licensures in good standing (any state).
  • May be working toward Colorado clinical licenses and registered with DORA; must have Colorado licensures by hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.
Assistant Professor
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery.
  • Current AMCB certification.
  • Minimum of two years full‑scope practice.
  • Current RN, APN, and RxN licensures in good standing (any state).
  • May be working toward Colorado clinical licenses and registered with DORA; must have Colorado licensures by hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.
