ONE offers an hourly wage estimate of $26.52 - $40.90 per hour, with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus. This is a full‑time, entry‑level position.
The Surgical Technologist III (STIII) supports surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, managing equipment and sterile supplies, assisting the surgeon and circulating nurse, and ensuring compliance with aseptic technique and safety protocols. The STIII works under the direction of the RN, may take call, and performs duties within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities- Assist in cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite.
- Participate in care and cleaning of OR equipment.
- Assist in setting up required equipment and sterile supplies.
- Support the surgeon by providing instrumentation and pulling cases as needed.
- Ensure sterile field throughout procedures.
- Manage supply and equipment needs and report damaged equipment.
- Assist with opening and closing of surgical cases and OR turnover.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and institutional policies.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance manuals.
- Consult with the circulating nurse on instrument counts and specimen handling.
- Attend unit‑specific education sessions and mandatory meetings.
- State of Colorado Surgical Registry required; current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current CST certification from NBSTSA preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians.
- One year of experience as a Surgical Technician.
- Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and multiple surgical specialties.
- Good organizational and professional communication skills.
- Ability to handle medications on the sterile field and account to the RN.
- Understanding of national patient safety initiatives and strict compliance with safety protocols.
