POSITION TITLE: Director of Finance and Accounting

LOCATION: Lakewood, CO

WORK WEEK: Monday - Thursday, 36 hours per week (onsite to start with option of 1 day hybrid of the 4 day work week)

Overseeing all accounting and revenue cycle functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within a nonprofit healthcare setting. This position provides strategic leadership to the accounting and billing team, supporting the overall financial strategy of the organization. The Director partners with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, program teams, and auditors, to maintain alignment with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

• 5 to 7 years of progressive financial responsibility and supervisory experience. Prefer experience in human services, disability services, non-profits and state system operations.
• Prior audit experience, including involvement on either side of the audit process (auditor or auditee), is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
• Familiarity with internal controls and compliance frameworks
• Strong understanding of medical billing, coding (ICD?10, CPT, HCPCS), payer rules, and reimbursement methodologies
• Must be hands on

• Master of Business Administration or active Certified Public Accountant Licensure.
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

• Optimizing revenue cycle performance by managing charge capture, billing accuracy, claims submission, payer compliance, and reimbursement processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments for the critical services provided by the organization
• Doing entries and preparing financials.
• High-level journal entries and be the GAAP subject matter expert
• Variance analysis, and prepare board reports
• Will need to sit on the Finance Committee
• Oversee a team of 7 (includes billers, bookkeepers and accountants)
