Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform audits across operations and financial processes, functional areas, and internal controls aligned with the annual audit plan.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, assess process design, and perform detailed testing of control effectiveness and financial accuracy.
  • Evaluate project‑level controls (e.g., cost management, subcontractor payment processes, billing, procurement, self‑perform tracking).
  • Prepare high‑quality audit reports that clearly describe findings, root causes, and practical recommendations.
  • Ensure all audit work complies with IIA Standards and DPR’s internal methodology.
Risk & Control Assessment
  • Identify key risks related to financial reporting, operational performance, compliance, and project execution.
  • Assess whether functions, project teams and business units have adequate controls to support accurate cost reporting, financial integrity, and operational consistency.
  • Recommend enhancements to risk management processes, internal controls, and system workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong partnerships with departments, project teams, business unit leaders, shared services groups, and regional finance teams.
  • Communicate audit issues constructively and provide clarity on expectations for remediation plans.
  • Facilitate closing meetings and follow‑up discussions to ensure agreed actions are understood and measurable.
Advisory & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide insight and guidance on control design, process optimisation, and risk mitigation as DPR continues to grow and evolve.
  • Support investigations, ad‑hoc reviews, and rapid‑response assessments when risks or control gaps arise.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes, templates, and data‑driven audit techniques.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Financial accounting experience, preferably gained at a public accounting firm (Big Four or national/regional firm).
  • Previous internal audit experience.
  • Recognised internal audit qualification, such as CIA or other IIA‑recognised credentials.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO), audit methodologies, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and regions.
Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar US accounting credential.
  • Experience with construction industry financial cycles, including job costing, procurement, subcontract management, and revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (Power BI, advanced Excel, etc).
Key Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Professional skepticism balanced with a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Ability to work across diverse teams and regions with a solution‑oriented approach.
