Accounting Department

The Accounting Department is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. The department manages a broad range of functions, including financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, month-end close activities, financial systems, fixed assets, consolidation, and campus-specific financial oversight.

Position Overview

This is a Remote U.S. based role.

Vantage is looking for an experienced, highly analytical Lead Fund Accountant to work under the direction of the Manager, Investor Fund Accounting, NA to lead the evaluation of accounting standards on various transactions as they occur, the preparation of technical accounting analysis and memoranda, and the monitoring of new accounting standards for potential impact. This position will also be highly involved with and contribute to the day-to-day accounting activities, the month end close process, the preparation of financial statements, and improvements in and compliance with internal control systems.

The Lead Fund Accountant will also assist with financial audits and participate in system improvement initiatives. This role must be able to work independently, have a strong understanding of US GAAP, be able to identify accounting issues requiring analysis, be able to research accounting guidance, and be able to analyze such guidance to reach accounting conclusions. The ideal candidate must operate with a high degree of autonomy, be well-organized, and thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead preparation of fundlevel financial statements, journal entries, supporting schedules, and general ledger reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

• Perform quarterly and yearend close procedures for assigned Funds, including workpaper preparation, financial packages, capital account statements, and related reconciliations.

• Oversee maintenance of fund capital tables, ensuring ownership details, commitments, contributions, distributions, and unfunded balances align with the general ledger.

• Prepare, review, and enhance capital call and distribution calculations, ensuring compliance with governing documents and accuracy of investor-level allocations.

• Conduct technical accounting research and provide clear, concise accounting position memos.

• Apply deep understanding of partnership structures, waterfall mechanics, preferred return/carried interest, and fundlevel performance metrics (IRR, MOIC, DPI).

• Review investment activity to ensure proper accounting treatment, accurate settlement details, and alignment with fund agreements.

• Develop and update accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Collaborate closely with investor relations, legal, treasury, tax, and compliance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and timely reporting.

• Serve as a key point of contact for investor inquiries, leveraging thorough data analysis, source level reconciliation, and cross functional collaboration to deliver precise and timely information.

• Identify opportunities to enhance processes, reporting flows, and internal controls, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Manage multiple deadlines across recurring reporting cycles and execute high priority, ad hoc analysis as needed.
