Controller Position Summary

The Controller will lead the organization’s financial operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting and treasury functions. This role also oversees corporate insurance and providing strategic guidance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Financial Management
    • Direct all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, billing, job costing, and financial statement preparation.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Treasury & Cash Management
    • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
  • Payroll
    • Oversee payroll processing, tax compliance, workers’ compensation, unemployment, benefits administration, 401(k), and HSA programs.
  • Corporate Insurance
    • Manage corporate insurance policies and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
    • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
    • Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes.
    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
    • Supervise and mentor accounting and administrative staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as Accounting Manager.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with audits, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance and benefits administration is a plus.
