Payroll Manager – Multi-State & ADP
Job Type: Fulltime Employment

The successful candidate will be responsible for quickly summarizing data, evaluating trends, and presenting actionable insights to senior management to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all activities required to process bi-weekly payroll, including maintaining payroll records, filing tax and voluntary deduction reports, and processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
- Prepare accounting transactions, auditable support documentation, and special reports for senior management.
- Develop, manage, and control all payroll-related tasks to ensure organizational payroll processing objectives are met, including coordination with auditors.
- Maintain accurate records for vacation, service awards, holidays, bonuses, and sick leave.
- Audit and reconcile accounting records and prepare periodic bank, insurance, and financial reports.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal controls and payroll procedures.
- Ensure proper training and documentation are in place for all payroll processes and identify and train designated backup resources.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on new policies and amendments impacting employee compensation and benefits.
- Stay current with all payroll laws and payroll tax regulations while continuously improving processes and identifying and resolving process deficiencies.
- Coordinate with Accounting for financial reporting, auditing, and general ledger activities.
- Serve as the payroll lead for system implementations, upgrades, and updates as required.
- Perform various accounting and clerical tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of financial and payroll records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 7+ years of experience managing multi-state payroll and payroll taxes.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with ADP, including expert-level ADP report writing.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
- Prior experience with payroll tax processing and payroll audits required.
- Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity through accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to process, manipulate, analyze, and summarize payroll and financial reports.
- Proven adaptability to highly variable and non-recurring situations requiring immediate attention.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, Outlook, and strong internet research capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, project management, decision-making, and time management abilities.
