About the Role
You will join a sector team within S&P Global Ratings that produces high-quality fundamental credit research and benchmarks. The team focuses on the Transportation, Auto, Aerospace & Defense, and Engineering & Construction industries and regularly engages with senior corporate executives and investors.

This role supports the team's surveillance and rating activities by producing accurate, timely credit analysis that informs committee decisions and external publications. Your work helps maintain S&P Global Ratings' reputation for integrity and transparency and supports capital markets by improving credit risk transparency for investors and issuers.
Responsibilities- Support ongoing surveillance of a portfolio of rated corporate issuers through financial statement analysis, forecasting, and industry research.
- Contribute to financial models and written materials used for committee reviews and external publications.
- Identify and flag potential issues in financial analysis and credit assessments with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with team members across offices and time zones; participate in team discussions and meetings with issuers and other external parties.
- Take initiative to support broader team goals and operate effectively in an environment of continuous improvement and high customer service standards.
For U.S. candidates, the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD 65,000 to 72,000. Final base salary will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
What We're Looking For BasicRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; business or quantitative discipline preferred.
- Some progress toward the CFA or MBA is a benefit; commitment to pursue further credentials expected.
- 0‑1 years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis, investment banking, accounting, or related finance roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new workflow applications.
- Strong financial statement analysis and accounting knowledge; ability to process and analyze complex financial information accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Well organized; able to multitask and meet deadlines; strong team player; independent, critical thinker; self‑starter; coachable with a genuine desire for personal development.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2‑3 days per week.
- Final‑stage interview requires at least one in‑person interview at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office.
- Prior internship or work experience in credit research, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
- Familiarity with sector dynamics in Transportation, Auto, Aerospace & Defense, or Engineering & Construction.
- Experience building or maintaining financial models.
