Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Manager, Taxation, the US Senior Tax Analyst will assist in U.S. tax compliance, tax planning, and tax reporting requirements for the Company. The role will identify and implement best practices to optimize the corporation’s tax structure, interact with senior leadership on tax opportunities, and resolve prior years’ tax examinations.
Responsibilities- Assist with the annual U.S. tax compliance process, coordinating preparation of partnership and corporate income tax returns (Forms 1120 and 1065), state and local filings, quarterly tax installment calculations, and 1099 filings.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions under U.S. GAAP, related true‑up analysis, and tax reporting to the parent company under IFRS; create templates to gather tax information from divisions and reconcile income tax accounts.
- Respond to federal and state income tax audits and develop process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in tax processes.
- Monitor applicable tax legislation, assess proposed impacts, and support tax planning initiatives such as tax incentives and credits.
- Maintain tax basis information, assist with sales and use tax review, and prepare responses to notices from tax authorities.
- Research and prepare technical memos supporting U.S. tax positions in financial statements and statutory filings.
- Minimum 3-5 years of tax experience preparing U.S. corporate and partnership income tax returns (Forms 1120 and 1065) in a public accounting firm or publicly traded company.
- Experience preparing tax provisions and knowledge of accounting standards under U.S. GAAP or IFRS.
- Experience dealing with tax authorities and financial statement auditors.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills; ability to convey complex tax regulations to management.
- Self‑starter with high attention to detail, working independently and as part of a team under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
