Senior Asset Manager — Denver, CO

This position requires a deadline‑driven and detail‑oriented individual who will be responsible for underwriting borrower consent requests, loan covenant review and monitoring, financial statement and rent roll analysis, watchlist/surveillance, reserve disbursement requests, new loan audits, calculating/coordinating loan payoffs, and satisfying investor requirements. Focus will be on commercial mortgage risk management and customer service. The role offers a flexible work environment and is available for an immediate start.

Responsibilities
  • Provide premier customer service to lenders, borrowers, other servicing staff and regional offices.
  • Plan and schedule own workload to efficiently meet benchmarks within the department.
  • Manage a portfolio of Freddie Mac loans with varying requirements and regulations.
  • Underwrite and formulate recommendations for lender consent of borrower requests, including lease approvals, maturity extensions, partial releases/substitutions of collateral, easements, condemnations, ownership transfers, etc.
  • Monitor borrower loan covenants across the portfolio to ensure compliance with lender standards.
  • Analyze annual and quarterly financial statements for multifamily and commercial properties in accordance with the requirements of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life companies and other investors.
  • Follow up with borrowers and management companies regarding variances and general income and expense questions.
  • Follow up with borrowers to resolve any deferred maintenance or other issues identified during the annual inspection.
  • Review and make recommendations for releases from reserves, including replacement, repair, TI/LC, and insurance loss.
  • Monitor maturing loans and provide the required notices to borrowers.
  • Monitor and update monthly loan reports utilized by investors and management to analyze portfolio risk.
  • Audit new loan boarding and setup to ensure loan terms and covenants were accurately captured in the servicing system.
  • Calculate and coordinate loan payoff requests, including yield maintenance calculations.
  • Monitor and collect outstanding mortgage payments, carefully documenting collection efforts.
  • Provide training and mentoring across the team on analysis, underwriting, and general CRE knowledge.
  • Assist team members on advanced and/or complicated consent requests.
  • Assist Manager(s) with monitoring team tasks, reviewing write‑ups, quality control, and feedback.
  • Participate in presentations and classroom‑style training for staff based on areas of expertise.
  • Oversee assigned lender portfolios, maintain effective business relationships, monitor team tasks, quality control, lender feedback, and provide internal approval of write‑ups/recommendations.
  • Travel minimally for lender visits, industry conferences, etc. (1–3 times per year).
  • Conduct physical property inspections as needed.
  • Serve on procedure committees, updating policies and procedures for portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management leadership to provide recommendations and execute on department goals/objectives.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks/projects as assigned within the department.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in real estate, finance, or accounting. Master’s Degree is desirable.
  • Work Experience: 10+ years of commercial real estate and/or loan underwriting experience.
Technical Competencies
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
