Overview

Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.

Position Summary

The Structured Finance Transaction Management (“SFTM”) team plays a critical role in advancing Bayview’s mission by processing, executing, and administering structured finance transactions that support our broad asset management mandate.

As an SFTM AVP, you will play a central role in structured finance execution by:

  • Supporting the management and execution of asset-backed financing transactions
  • Reading and understanding the legal documents necessary on each transaction
  • Engaging directly with lenders and other stakeholders to support communication and efficient execution
  • Partnering with internal groups including Portfolio Management, Finance and Legal to align priorities and drive results
  • Developing market fluency through analysis of comparable transactions, rating agency and lender feedback and ABS primary market data to inform execution decisions

This role is designed for a motivated professional who brings strong project management fundamentals, attention to detail and a process-driven mindset. The AVP will be expected to manage competing priorities with discipline, communicate clearly across audiences and operate as a collaborative, low-ego teammate. Over time, this role offers a clear path to grow into leading transactions and become a trusted partner to Bayview’s investment teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in structuring and executing structured finance transactions in a variety of asset classes
  • Prepare materials for the Portfolio Management team that inform investment committee decisions and ensure competitiveness in asset acquisitions
  • Support and assist in managing transaction processes and documentation, coordinating with counsel and engaging counter parties to ensure terms are accurately reflected and execution is timely and organized
  • Manage closing and funding logistics in coordination with Finance, Treasury, Operations and external counter parties
  • Support relationship management with broker dealers, rating agencies, financing partners, and other deal related counter parties developing the professional presence to represent Bayview externally and building trusted relationships over time
  • Monitor primary market data, comparable transactions and rating agency feedback to synthesize insights which help shape financing strategy
  • Demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to unfamiliar asset classes and complex capital structures, building expertise through execution
  • Assist with KYC procedures
  • Administrative tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in structured finance, debt capital markets, investment banking or commercial banking
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with solid academic background
  • Paralegal certificate holder or candidate a plus

SKILLS

  • Solid foundation in structured finance and credit markets, with working knowledge of financing mechanics and capacity to broaden expertise in asset-backed products
  • Ability to review and negotiate term sheet and legal documentation for business concerns under tight timelines, coordinating effectively with counsel as well as internal and external counter parties
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with intellectual curiosity to learn new products and capital structures quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using Excel and PowerPoint for preparation of external counter party facing diligence materials
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and other financial analytics tools a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL
