This entry‑level customer service position provides relevant information to customers, handles product sales, and supports CPW staff. Daily interaction with customers in person and over the phone requires effective communication and public‑relations skills.
- Sell wildlife and park products such as hunting and fishing licenses, park passes, OHV permits, and snowmobile/boat registrations; process license refunds, duplicate licenses, hunter‑education cards, and parks products.
- Maintain customer records in our database, IPAWS (name and address changes, hunter‑education verification, and other documentation).
- Answer incoming calls, handle inquiries about wildlife or parks, and direct callers to appropriate staff.
- Maintain and update information bulletin boards, seasonal handouts/reports/forms, and informational packets.
- Perform wildlife euthanizing when necessary.
- Provide internal customer service to other staff, serve as front‑desk reception; perform administrative duties such as managing copy, fax, IPAWS machines, and stocking supplies.
- Pick up, deliver, and distribute office mail.
- Monitor and ensure that standard office supplies, brochures, and merchandise are in stock.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
The office will provide some uniform items. Employees may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
Basic Requirements- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
- Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience handling money and working with the public is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service.
- Previous experience with Word or Excel is helpful.
- Previous experience with hunting and fishing is helpful.
- Ability to work well within a team.
Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education.
