Opportunity for licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Level Engineering & Architecture is seeking a Licensed Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Denver Metro and surrounding areas. 1099 contract, with base pay + up-capped commissions, a full workload opportunity that allows for flexibility, within the Denver Metro region (Colorado Springs to Fort Collins).
Hybrid LocationDay-to-day work is remote, with local presence required for site visits, meetings, and municipal coordination.
Core Responsibilities- Execute structural engineering analysis and design for residential and commercial building projects
- Develop structural solutions for new construction, renovations, and existing structures, including field-informed design decisions
- Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, technical reports, and engineering narratives
- Conduct and document structural inspections, condition assessments, and retrofit recommendations as needed
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and internal design teams
- Communicate directly with clients, municipalities, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout design and permitting
- Project Manage individual projects and client relationships independently
- Apply and interpret applicable building codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements across project types
- Support quality control, constructability review, and project delivery schedules from concept through completion
- Engineers/Architects who experience the highest success develop and maintain a personal referral-based project pipeline
Required:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- 6+ years of professional structural engineering experience across residential and commercial projects
- Demonstrated experience performing structural inspections and analysis in compliance with local building codes
- Experience producing structural calculations, construction documents, and technical reports
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience coordinating with consultants, architects, contractors, and project partners
- Ability to manage projects independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and client correspondence
- Authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
- Familiarity with municipal permitting, plan review, and inspection processes
- Prior experience working directly with clients on identifying project scope, recommendations, and follow-through
- Experience exercising professional judgment on existing structures, renovations, and field conditions
- Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating within a distributed team environment

This is a hybrid 1099 contracted role offering a base salary with performance-based upside.
- Base salary of $50,000 annually (paid bi-weekly)
- Performance-based commissions earned once the monthly minimum production expectation is met
- Typical annual earnings range from $75,000 to $175,000+, depending on workload and capability.
