Senior GNC Engineer | Satellite Missions | Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)
We’re working with a US-based small satellite company that designs, builds, and operates end-to-end spacecraft missions across Earth observation, communications, in-orbit demonstrations, science, and exploration.
The business delivers turnkey satellite systems, covering everything from mission design through on-orbit operations, and is now looking to add a Senior GNC Engineer to support current and upcoming missions.
This is a senior, hands-on role with a strong focus on GNC analysis, simulation, and flight software contribution, working closely with Systems Engineering, Mission Design, and Flight Software teams.
What you’ll be working on
- High-fidelity modelling and simulation of spacecraft GNC systems across all mission phases
- Monte Carlo analysis, covariance studies, and performance validation
- Sensor and actuator analysis including star trackers, IMUs, reaction wheels, GNSS, and propulsion subsystems
- Development and modification of C++ GNC flight software components
- Verification and validation through unit testing and hardware-in-the-loop simulations
- Providing GNC input into mission design, CONOPS, and system requirements
What they’re looking for
- 8+ years of experience in spacecraft GNC analysis and simulation
- Strong understanding of spacecraft dynamics, control systems, and estimation techniques such as Kalman filtering
- Solid experience with C++, plus Python and/or MATLAB
- Proven background building Monte Carlo and numerical analysis tools
- Comfortable working at system level and collaborating across disciplines
- Based in, or able to work hybrid from, the Denver metro area
Nice to have
- Flight software development experience for space missions
- Familiarity with commercial flight software frameworks
- Linux development environments and Git
- Exposure to GNC-related testing such as phasing or on-orbit validation
Location
Hybrid, with in-person collaboration in the Denver metro area
Compensation
$175k–$225k base salary +benefits
