Denver's Right-of-Way Services (ROWS) manages most activities in the City's right-of-way. ROWS is responsible for determining requirements for improvements in the public right-of-way, as well as reviewing plans for regulatory compliance, issuing permits, and inspecting work in the areas of transportation, wastewater, and survey.

The Engineering and Regulatory (ER) Coordination team within ROWS is looking for a Plans Review Specialist II to support our work in evaluating capital projects, utility projects, and land use proposals within the public right-of-way (ROW). Our team ensures compliance with city, state, and federal regulations while fostering seamless coordination among diverse projects and stakeholders.  For more information, please visit the .Few

Specifically, as the Plans Review Specialist II you will:
* Conduct research on applicable codes, regulations, requirements, and standards for plans review
* Work with contractors and homeowners to review and approve a variety of complex site plans to ensure compliance with Colorado statues, Denver revised Municipal codes, Right of Way Rules and Regulations, Denver Zoning codes and Federal requirements for the issuance of Ordinance, Resolutions and/or permits
* Provide planning-level collaboration, resolve plan review comments, provide process and technical guidance, and minimize regulatory and field conflicts, while monitoring progress and updating the customer
* Review and approve a variety of plans, that require a review of historical plans, reviewing past permit usage, reviewing transportation and traffic control plans, site plans, encroachment plans, utility plans etc. Which may lead to different Resolutions and Ordinances, requiring City Council review and approval, and different types of permits.
* Partner with engineers, permit review technicians, business operations administrators, and administrative staff
* Provide high quality customer service by meeting, following up with, and providing guidance to applicants, internal project managers, contract personnel, other city staff, and the public (practice  values – listen, dare, and deliver)
* Assist applicants and customers via email and phone
* Use asset software applications for project tracking, mapping, drafting of graphical details, assembly of department metrics, issuance of permits, record…
