In the role of multidisciplinary Oil and Gas Project Engineer, you will lead engineering duties for multi‑disciplined natural gas pipelines, liquids pipelines, and facility projects within a rapidly expanding Oil & Gas program across the United States. You will also mentor younger engineering staff on design codes and considerations in these fields. Typical projects include pipeline mainlines, trenchless installations, and associated facilities such as metering, regulation, compression, over‑pressure protection, and storage.
Additional engineering duties may include reviewing and performing linear pipeline design calculations, verifying code and standard compliance, conducting quality checks, reviewing manufacturer drawings, preparing procurement specifications and construction documents, evaluating bids, conducting conceptual design studies, writing reports, selecting materials and equipment, observing construction, participating in project meetings, managing permitting, and other similar tasks. Occasionally you will manage task‑level efforts and could function as a deputy Project Manager.
The position involves travel for internal project team meetings, meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors. Travel is typically less than 20% but will be based on current workload and candidate preference.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of related oil and gas industry experience
- Experience with natural gas pipelines and trenchless crossings preferred
- Experience with natural gas regulating facilities preferred
- Ability to perform project tasks involving site investigation, permitting requirements, and environmental conditions
- Experience interfacing with Federal, State, and local agencies and community boards for project planning beneficial
- Computer skills:
AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Earth;
ArcGIS strongly preferred - Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, writing and presentation skills; self‑motivated and able to work with little direction
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, Revit)
