Electrical Project Engineer — Denver, CO (Greenwood Village office)

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis and design of electrical systems for low‑ to moderate‑complexity commercial interior and tenant improvement projects, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of fast‑paced consulting projects within the commercial interiors and tenant improvement market.
  • Plan and schedule project tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet various deadlines and objectives.
  • Document design decisions and monitor project progress; analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants.
  • Evaluate and reuse existing electrical systems for renovation projects.
  • Provide in‑process design reviews, implement IMEG quality control processes, and ensure designs meet industry and client requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; prioritize safety standards and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions; oversee projects through construction administration and provide solution‑based communication to clients.

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics for building electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard engineering software and tools such as lighting photometric calculation software (AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting) and power system analysis software (SKM/PTW, Easy Power).
  • Knowledge of IES Standards and experience with reference materials such as NFPA Link, Tech Street, and MadCAD.
  • Experience with Master Specification editing, BIM software, and Revit add‑ins (eSPECS, CTC, SET Tools).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, mentor junior staff, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 3‑4 years of experience in building design consulting for commercial interiors and tenant improvement markets (6‑8 years for alternative qualifications).
  • Associates degree or certification in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.
  • Position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $92,000 - $123,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
