Position Summary:As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll contribute to mechanical systems design for industrial, commercial, wastewater, and water facilities. Your work will span system expansions, total replacements, and new facility construction. This person will work closely with project managers and mechanical leadership to assist with the development of design documents including engineering reports, calculations and analysis, drawings, specifications, and the engineer’s opinion of probable construction costs.

Essential Job Functions:The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
- 5 to 10 years in mechanical design, specifically related to design and construction documentation for mechanical, plumbing and performance-based fire protection systems in new and existing facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Familiarity with building codes, ASHRAE design manuals and guides, and USGBC LEED requirements, specifically for new or existing facilities.
- Basic knowledge of building mechanical equipment is desired. Some examples include fans, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, boilers, motors, pumps, variable speed drives, direct digital temperature controls and building automation systems. Plumbing and/or performance fire-protection experience also desired.
- REVIT/BIM and AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to move about in an office environment to access files, equipment, and meet with colleagues.
- Ability to visit active construction sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, standing for extended periods, and navigating areas with limited accessibility.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of drawings, field equipment, or related materials as needed.
