Working under broad direction, this role applies advanced geological interpretation techniques to evaluate and guide the development of complex, high‑value oil and gas field development opportunities. The position provides both validation of existing geological models and the creation of new subsurface interpretations to inform investment decisions, well engineering, and field development planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced geological interpretation techniques to evaluate complex field development projects.
  • Validate existing subsurface interpretations and generate new structural, strati graphic, and reservoir models.
  • Develop structure maps, isopach maps, cross sections, annotated bubble maps, and other interpretation products.
  • Analyze geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to identify prospective basins, plays, and trends.
  • Support multi‑discipline integration of subsurface evaluations for IAM investment decisions.
  • Contribute to standardized best‑practice processes for evaluation, well engineering, and field development planning.
  • Participate in formal brainstorming workshops with internal technical experts to drive innovation.
  • Communicate interpretation results, risks, and recommendations to IAM senior management and project stakeholders.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in production geology and new venture geology.
  • Experience working with an oil and gas operator.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and interpret geological maps, cross sections, and related subsurface products.
  • Strong background in basin, play, and reservoir evaluation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a senior, multi‑discipline technical team.
