Our Fire & Life Safety (FLS) team is expanding across various sectors, including Civic, Federal, Data Centers, Healthcare, Resources, Science/Tech/Labs, Transportation, Water, and more.
We seek a highly motivated Fire & Life Safety Engineer to join our Denver, CO team. You will work closely with regional leaders, serve as a consultant, and play a key role in developing and leading a Colorado-based team. Responsibilities include executing projects, providing leadership in fire & life safety design services such as active/passive systems, code consulting, safety evaluations, modeling, inspections, hazard analysis, emergency planning, structural fire protection, root cause analysis, and accessibility consulting.
Ideal candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and eager to advance their careers within a leading A/E firm. Travel may be required, estimated at 15% or less.
The Team: You will join a growing FLS team providing coverage across the U.S., working within integrated A/E teams in diverse industries, primarily based in Denver.

Duties and Skills:
- Fire protection engineering and code consulting; may serve as engineer of record.
- Project management of fire & life safety projects and interdisciplinary content.
- Analysis and design of fire protection systems, including suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
- Consulting on code compliance and safety standards.
- Preparation of design analyses, code summaries, safety plans, and reports.
- Design details, plans, diagrams, schedules, and specifications.
- On-site observations and reviews; overseeing project personnel.
- Experience with fire sprinkler, suppression, and alarm systems, NFPA codes, and International Building and Fire Codes is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of fire protection design or consulting experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes relevant to HDR projects.
- Project management experience is desirable.
- Experience with electric vehicle charging, healthcare, data centers, higher education, water/wastewater, industrial facilities.
- Team management experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- PE or P.Eng license.
- Experience with commercial or institutional facilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software.
