The Quantum Technologies and Subatomic Physics Groups at Colorado School of Mines are seeking a Post‑Doctoral Researcher in Quantum Sensing for Fundamental Physics
. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of experimental physics in a joint role with Prof. Kyle Leach and Prof. Wouter Van De Pontseele. If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of the Standard Model and advancing next‑generation quantum sensing technologies, this role puts you at the center of major international collaborations, including BeEST, RICOCHET, and Project 8.
What You’ll Work On
Lead one or more cutting‑edge research thrusts, such as:
- Precision nuclear decay measurements with superconducting tunnel junctions
- Neutrino mass measurements using microwave quantum sensing
You’ll drive technical innovation, mentor graduate students, and collaborate with partners across national labs, universities, and industry.
🎯 What You Bring- PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience mentoring junior researchers
- (Preferred) Hands‑on work with superconducting sensors, cryogenics, RF/microwave systems, or simulation tools
