Civil Engineer in Training

Civil Engineer‑In‑Training or Designer

The Civil Engineer‑In‑Training or Designer will be an integral part of the design team to produce construction documents for civil site projects. This position uses AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting and design tools and will work under the guidance of a senior engineer. You will gain an understanding of site systems and water/wastewater design on various building construction projects.

$70,000 to $80,000 annually.

• ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering; 2‑8 years of job‑related experience
• Base knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work with engineering concepts in real‑world applications
• Strong technical writing, calculation, and communication skills
• Understanding of fundamentals of civil engineering

• Work under direction of a licensed project engineer
• Plan layouts of small projects and coordinate with other departments
• Conduct basic research into jurisdictional requirements
• Prepare project plans and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
• Prepare engineering calculations and technical memorandums/reports
• Assist in construction administration, including onsite field observations

• Actual pay depends on experience, licensure, location, proficiency; eligible for annual performance bonus.

• Role primarily office‑based with limited physical requirements; may involve bending, stretching, twisting, reaching.
