AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities- Hire and develop new Construction Managers & Project Engineers; coach and lead a large Construction Management team.
- Strategic and tactical management of construction capacity delivery within the region.
- Communicate and provide guidance to Finance on capital budgets.
- Coordinate with various teams to support data center development and launch.
- Develop and manage metrics to quantify performance within the region.
- Coordinate with Business Development on land and facility acquisition.
- Manage safety, cost, and quality of data center deliverables.
- Learn the Data Center technology and construction process through training on various campuses.
- Align quickly to our culture and Leadership Principles.
- Lead, motivate, and train subordinates.
- Think creatively to build innovative solutions that reduce cost and duration without impacting quality and reliability.
- Perform complex business case analysis to justify project scope and present the justification to management in high-level review.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work associated with construction and project execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
- Experience in managing high‑performing technical teams.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
- Experience owning the operation of a mission‑critical team or product.
- Experience with large‑scale technical operations or compute farms.
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
