Lead Mechanical Engineer, PE:

Core Technical Responsibilities- Holistic System Analysis:
Conduct technical evaluations and in‑field verification of existing MEP systems. - High‑Impact Design:
Perform rigorous heating/cooling load calculations to ensure new equipment is right‑sized to meet the needs of the building. - Functional Mechanical Layouts:
Execute full‑cycle design for HVAC ductwork and piping, ensuring layouts are optimized for ease of maintenance and long‑term serviceability. - Creative Problem‑Solving:
Evaluate current design criteria to provide solutions that improve building performance through operational changes and controls optimization beyond a standard like‑for‑like approach. - Compliance & Integrity:
Produce stamped construction documents and technical specifications that meet current codes while exceeding industry standards for durability.
- Dynamic Project Portfolio:
Lead engineering efforts across a wide spectrum of environments in the commercial retrofit market, including office buildings, hospitals/labs, manufacturing facilities, and data centres. - Inter‑Disciplinary Coordination:
Serve as the technical lead when coordinating with building automation, structural, and electrical teams to ensure a seamless, cohesive final product. - Business Development Support:
Assist the sales team with customer visits as the "voice of engineering," building trust through technical expertise and transparent communication. - Innovation:
Explore new technologies and stay abreast of current industry and market trends to ensure designs remain relevant for decades, not just years.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Licensure:
Registered Professional Engineer (PE). - Experience:
6+ years in HVAC design with a focus on mechanical infrastructure and commercial retrofits. - Software:
High proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. - Code Expertise:
Knowledge of building HVAC and energy codes.
