Responsibilities

ECS is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Denver, CO office. This is a hybrid position offering a blend of field and office responsibilities. If you bring technical depth in geotechnical analysis and thrive in a consulting environment, this is a great opportunity to lead complex projects and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and execute geotechnical engineering projects across Colorado and surrounding regions

* Conduct and supervise field exploration programs, including soil borings, test pits, CPTs, and geophysical surveys

* Perform advanced geotechnical analysis including slope stability, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, and earth retention systems

* Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and technical deliverables

* Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycle

* Mentor and guide junior staff; review and provide feedback on technical work

* Ensure compliance with project scopes, schedules, and budgets

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)

* PE license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 6 months

* Minimum 6 years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting setting

* Proficiency with geotechnical software: gINT, LPile, Slope/W, Slide, Settle3D, etc.

* Familiarity with CAD and/or Micro Station for collaboration with design teams

* Strong understanding of subsurface investigations, laboratory testing programs, and geotechnical design principles

* Experience with foundation systems, retaining structures, ground improvement, and forensic investigations

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering

* Experience in proposal writing and business development

* Project management experience with DOT or large-scale commercial clients, residential, municipal, retail etc.

* Active participation in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, DFI, Geo-Institute)

* The expected pay range for this role and location is $90,000 - $125,000/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
